Breast Ultrasound: Ultrasound uses safe, high frequency sound waves to identify normal breast tissue, fluid-filled cysts or solid masses without the use of radiation. The radiologist may use this exam to evaluate a density on the mammogram, a lump that doesn't show up on mammogram or just to look at breasts that are very dense. You will be informed of the results of the ultrasound results immediately. Click here for more information on breast ultrasound.

Ultrasound Guided Needle Biopsy: This procedure is a less invasive, more comfortable way to take tissue samples to evaluate an abnormality seen on ultrasound. The radiologist places a special biopsy device into the abnormality under ultrasound guidance using local anesthetic. Most women can resume normal activities the next day. Results are usually available the next afternoon. A nurse will be with you from admission to discharge on the day of biopsy. Click here for more information on ultrasound guided needle biopsy.

Stereotactic Needle Biopsy: Stereotactic breast biopsy uses a special table and computerized digital imaging to localize breast abnormalities. The radiologist uses a special vacuum-assisted biopsy device to obtain samples of tissue from the abnormality seen on the mammogram. This procedure also is less invasive and is used in place of a surgical biopsy. Results are usually available the next afternoon. A nurse will be with you from admission to discharge on the day of biopsy. Click here for more information on stereotactic needle biopsy.

Needle Localizations: If a surgical biopsy is required and a breast lesion is not felt, we can assist your surgeon by localizing the area under ultrasound or mammography and by placing a wire into the area on the day of surgery. A nurse will be with you from admission to our facility and will escort you to the Same Day Surgery area at Jupiter Medical Center. Our facility will provide transportation to the Medical Center.

Bone Densitometry: Bone density tests are the most practical way to accurately measure the density of your bones. This exam is useful in diagnosing osteoporosis. We use the latest technology, which is simple, safe and non-invasive. Our equipment allows patients to lie comfortably on their back while testing is being performed. The exam takes less than 10 minutes. Click here for more information on bone densitometry.
