Physical Therapists treat children with delayed gross motor development caused by prematurity, neuromuscular disorders, genetic disorders, illness and/or injury. The child's physical disabilities are addressed through an age appropriate play environment. The family is included in all aspects of treatment.
Occupational Therapists treat children who are delayed in fine motor development, who have impaired processing of their sensory systems and who have difficulty with their self-care skills. Treatment approach is holistic and the family, child and therapist work as a team to improve the child's function.
Speech Language Pathologists treat children whose communication, oral motor or feeding and swallowing abilities are delayed or developing differently than what is typical for children. Speech and language therapy involves assessing a child to determine his or her needs and working closely with the family to design a plan of treatment.
