Jupiter Medical Center University is an internal structure designed to improve individual performance by ensuring that learning and knowledge of the organization is directly connected to its business strategy. It provides lifelong learning resources and skill development. It will initially begin as a series of leadership pilots through the School of Leadership with certain programs such as the Tuition Assistance Program, coaching, teambuilding, mentoring and basic leadership skills for high potential leaders in the organization for succession planning purposes.
JMCU will identify opportunities for collaboration with external partners such as universities to maximize quality and patient care. It will also provide health care specific education through the School at Work program. JMCU's key objectives are to drive service improvement across the organization; strengthen and diversify the workforce to improve skills and tackle skills shortages; enhance leadership through improved strategic decision-making and accountability; and retain valued employees and prepare them for career advancement.
JMCU is not intended to replace departmental clinical competency training and does not pay for the cost of required certifications.
