Bright Beginnings Calendar of Events

Jupiter Medical Center's Bright Beginnings Birthing Suites offers a variety of informational classes for expectant parents. To register for the classes listed below, please contact the OB Educator at (561) 263-BORN (2676) or send an e-mail to obed@jupitermed.com.

Additionally, you may call Patient Registration at (561) 263-4414, option 1 for information regarding pre-registration and seeing the Anesthesiologist for your mandatory prenatal epidural interview. Please note, all classes require advance registration and have a maximum capacity. Registration is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Bright Beginnings Birthing Suites Tour

Tours are given about three times a month: All tours start in the OB waiting room on the third floor of Jupiter Medical Center. Please call our OB Educator at (561) 263-BORN (2676) or email obed@jupitermed.com to sign up. If you are taking a birthing class, you do not need to register for a separate tour.   

Childbirth Classes

This series of three classes prepares new parents for birth by covering such topics as: labor and delivery, labor support techniques, breathing and relaxation, childbirth film, postpartum care and C-Section information. Each series has three classes and includes a tour of the Birthing Suites.

Saturday Childbirth Class

This childbirth class meets the needs of new parents by offering labor and delivery, postpartum care, epidural, c-section and natural birth information. The material is identical to the three-class series, but conducted in a one-day format. Participants will have a lunch break, and a tour of the birthing suites.

Newborn Care Class

This class will teach parents the basics of baby care including: normal newborn characteristics, circumcision care, sleep patterns, safety, comfort measures, bathing, choosing a pediatrician, diapering and illness.

Breastfeeding Class

This class provides the support you need to make breastfeeding a joyous and rewarding experience. The class features information regarding positioning the baby, establishing your milk supply and pumping, nutrition, and information on going back to work and breastfeeding. 

Family & Friends CPR Class

Family & Friends CPR teaches adult, child and infant CPR, as well as airway obstruction removal for all three age groups. This class is sanctioned by the American Heart Association, but is not a certification for professionals.

Sibling Class

This class will prepare big brothers and sisters (ages 3-8) for their new arrival, including viewing a birthing suite, educational video, making a gift for the new baby and the gift of a t-shirt. The class is followed by a hospital tour.

Prenatal Yoga and Fitness

These yoga classes are specifically designed for pregnant woman during any stage of their pregnancy. The class uses gentle postures that will stretch, strengthen, and prepare your body for childbirth. Learn relaxing breathing techniques that may also be used during labor. Boot Camp for New Dads

For men only, Boot Camp for New Dads is a three-hour workshop facilitated by other dads. New dads coach expectant dads on the realities of fatherhood. Dads-to-be will learn about becoming a dad, forming a new family, birth and bonding and caring for a new mother and baby.
