during therapy, treatments

JUPITER, Fla. (January 20, 2014) – Clinics Can Help, a local non-profit that donates surplus durable medical equipment and supplies to financially needy children and adults in the county has partnered with the Wheelchair Foundation to provide 10 children’s wheelchairs for Jupiter Medical Center this January. The wheelchairs will assist those undergoing therapy, testing and treatments, and who have limited mobility. As the premier not-for-profit healthcare provider in northern Palm Beach and southern Martin Counties, Jupiter Medical Center relies heavily on community support for maintaining its world-class service for its patients.

Based in Fort Lauderdale, as well as other cities and countries, the Wheelchair Foundation is a Division of Global Health and Education Foundation. The non-profit seeks to provide access to the more than 100 million children, teens and adults who are unable to afford a wheelchair and Clinics Can Help is a perfect partner for them in Palm Beach County.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide this assistance to Jupiter Medical Center,” says Clinics Can Help executive director, Owen O’Neill. “Clinics Can Help started by donating wheelchairs to those in need, which dovetails directly with the Wheelchair Foundation’s own mission. By partnering together, we were able to bring more than 120 wheelchairs for some of our area’s neediest patients.”

“Jupiter Medical Center is grateful to Clinics Can Help and the Wheelchair Foundation for graciously donating wheelchairs for our pediatric and adolescent patients,” said John D. Couris, President & CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “This donation signifies local businesses working together to provide world-class healthcare services to our patients and families we serve. With the recent announcement of our partnership with Miami Children’s Hospital, these wheelchairs will directly benefit even more pediatric patients throughout the region.”
