Jupiter Medical Center Awarded Certification in Orthopedics from the Joint Commission

February 20, 2012 – Jupiter, FL - Jupiter Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for its total knee, total shoulder and total hip replacement program by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care. The certification award recognizes Jupiter Medical Center’s dedication to continuous improvement and compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art and notoriously arduous standards.

Jupiter Medical Center underwent an intensive on-site survey on February 9-10, 2012. A team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated JMC for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.

"In achieving Joint Commission certification, Jupiter Medical Center demonstrates its commitment to the highest level of care for its patients that have had a joint replacement," says Jean Range, M.S., R.N., C.P.H.Q., Executive Director, Disease-Specific Care Certification, The Joint Commission. “Certification is a voluntary process and I commend Jupiter Medical Center for successfully undertaking this challenge to elevate its standard of care and instill confidence in the community it serves.”

Achieving the Joint Commission certification strengthens patient safety efforts, the forefront of Joint Commission’s standards and initiatives. It also offers the community increased confidence in the quality and safety of care, treatment and services. By seeking care at a certified facility like the Anderson Family Orthopedic and Spine Center at Jupiter Medical Center, patients rest assured that the quality of care received is unrivaled in the area.
