JUPITER, Fla. (March 21, 2013) – A distinguished group of more than 300 community supporters of Jupiter Medical Center were transported to an enchanting evening in Morocco at the 37th Annual Jupiter Medical Center Foundation Ball at PGA National Resort & Spa on March 9, 2013.  From the moment the guests arrived, they enjoyed the exotic colors and flair of this legendary Moroccan oasis complete with a lively cast of characters (sword swallower, fire eater, palm reader, magician, and hula hoop Princess to name a few) who entertained them on their journey to the Grand Ballroom for dinner, dancing, and brief remarks.

After the mesmerizing belly dancing performance by The Glitter Dancers, JMC Foundation President K. Murray Fournie welcomed the group and thanked them for their dedication and support.  He received a round of thunderous applause for announcing a one million dollar gift from Jupiter residents Lynn and George Bovenizer III of the Shepherd Foundation for the new JMC cafeteria to be built in the Florence De George Pavilion.  Fournie then  introduced the 2013 Ball Chairs, Roseanne and Dennis Williams, who recognized the Major Platinum Sponsors, The Lawrence J. and Florence A. De George Charitable Trust and Sheridan Healthcare, Inc., Diamond Sponsors Jane Napier and Lawrence F. De George and Suzanne Niedland.

Proceeds from the 2013 Ball will fund a new state-of-the-art Interactive Communications Television System at Jupiter Medical Center.  Two were on display during cocktail hour.  This new system will greatly enhance the efficiency and quality of patient care.  Through a bedside TV, patients will be able to review relevant information concerning their medical care and comfort.  The systems reporting capabilities will help physicians, nurses, and clinicians better monitor and manage patient needs at Jupiter Medical Center.

The Special Event Resource and Design Group created the stunning ambiance for this Marrakesh themed Ball.  Guests were awestruck with the breathtaking scenery, from plush sitting areas and intricate chandeliers to fragrant oranges adorning the centerpieces, and the glow from hundreds of Moroccan lanterns.  The Max Band kept guests dancing all night long!

The highlight of the evening was the annual prize drawing at the end of dinner for spectacular items including a luxury BMW 328i Sedan from Braman Motorcars BMW Jupiter, the Nanis Bicego Olga Lariat Necklace from Hamilton Jewelers Palm Beach Gardens, a Moroccan adventure courtesy of The Travel Gallery in Tequesta, and Maltz Jupiter Theatre VIP seats to the entire 2013-2014 season.  Under the leadership of Drawing Chair Kathleen Biglin, the committee did an outstanding job selling 1,000 tickets!  Every guest went home “a winner” thanks to Gift Underwriter Knight Corporations for underwriting the parting gift for the evening.
