FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

One of Only a Few Companies in Palm Beach County to Achieve Status

JUPITER, Fla. – Jupiter Medical Center has been recognized as a Gold-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association for helping employees eat better and move more. The hospital is one of only 30 companies in Palm Beach County to achieve Gold status.

“As a leading medical facility and employer in Palm Beach County, we know we have a priority to promote healthy living within our own walls to help demonstrate to the rest of the county how easy it is to be a fit-friendly worksite,” said John D. Couris, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “Being a fit-friendly worksite not only benefits our team members’ health, it has helped produced positive results for our hospital overall.”

As a Gold-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite, Jupiter Medical Center offers its employees physical activity options onsite and an increase in healthy eating options at the hospital. The Medical Center recently eliminated all fried foods from the cafeteria menu, and has an on-site fitness center that is free for team members to join. The Fit-Friendly Worksites program is a catalyst for positive change in the American workforce by helping worksites make their employees’ health and wellness a priority.
