Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiologists are board-certified physicians who specialize in minimally invasive, targeted treatments using image guidance. They offer in-depth knowledge, clinical expertise and the least invasive treatments possible to non-surgically treat disease at the source. Interventional Radiologists have pioneered minimally invasive modern medicine, including inventing angioplasty and the catheter delivered stent.

Today, many conditions can be treated non-surgically by Interventional Radiologists with treatments that offer less risk, less pain and less recovery time when compared to open surgery.

In most cases:

  • Procedures may be performed on an outpatient basis or require only a short hospital stay.
  • General anesthesia usually is not required.
  • Recovery time is reduced.
