Jupiter Medical Center Orthopedic Rehabilitation Services provides a continuum of care from inpatient to outpatient to wellness for orthopedic patients recovering from surgery.
Research has proven that pre-operative exercise programs improve early return of function after orthopedic surgery. Jupiter Medical Center Outpatient Rehabilitation Services offers customized pre-operative exercise programs designed to improve strength prior to scheduled surgery.
Patient's awaiting total joint replacement and neck or back surgery are offered the opportunity to attend an informative pre-operative class to educate them on what to expect before, during and after their surgery. You will be given the opportunity to ask questions of a representative from nursing, rehabilitation and case management. Following surgery patients will receive comprehensive rehabilitation from physical and occupational therapy that is individualized to the patients needs to promote a speedy recovery and independence in their home environment.
Orthopedic patients may require additional rehabilitation before going home. The Pavilion is Jupiter Medical Center’s top ranked sub acute inpatient rehab and long term care facility, conveniently located on the JMC campus and just a few steps west of the ER. The Pavilion Rehabilitation Therapists are committed to helping patients return to leading productive, independent lives by utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and a team approach to help patients reach the highest level of physical, emotional, and social independence.

The unique properties of water can significantly benefit spinal patients. Some of these properties include buoyancy which helps counteract gravity helping to support the weight of the patient and unload the spine. The buoyancy also helps allow for greater range of motion while decreasing pain. Viscosity provides resistance allowing for strength and conditioning while decreasing risk of further injury. Hydrostatic pressure helps improve circulation and blood flow. Aquatic exercises help strengthen the back, abdominal, and hip muscles that help create a healthy spine. The pool is considered one of the best places to work on core strengthening which is one of our main goals treating spinal patients. Aquatic therapy is offered at our Health and Rehabilitation facility on the Jupiter Medical Center Campus.
The SpineSix BioMotion Spinal System is a noninvasive spinal therapeutic mobilization system for patients with neck and back pain. For more information about this system and to view a brief click here.
