Physical therapists treat children with delayed gross motor development caused by prematurity, neuromuscular disorders, genetic disorders, illness and/or injury. Your child’s physical disabilities are addressed through an age appropriate play environment and the family is included in all aspects of treatment.
Occupational therapists treat children who are delayed in fine motor development, have impaired processing of their sensory systems and/or have difficulty with their self-care skills. We take a holistic approach to treatment with the therapist, child and family working as a team to improve your child’s function.
Speech-language pathologists treat children whose communication, oral motor or feeding and swallowing abilities are delayed or developing differently than what is typical for children. Speech and language therapy involves assessing your child to determine his or her needs and working closely with the family to design a plan of treatment.
