CT is an advanced X-ray used to produce a highly accurate image of the body. The areas of the body usually examined are the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis. The images obtained provide a detailed view of the structures in the body and how they relate with one another, which assists in the diagnostic process.

With the ever-changing dynamics of medicine, Jupiter Medical Center is committed to providing innovative ways to better serve our community. Our new GE Light-Speed Multi-Slice CT Scanner is considered the most important development in CT technology in the last ten years. Its advanced diagnostic features offer exceptional quality images four times faster than traditional axial scanners. Utilizing this modern technology, current routine exams such as head, chest, abdomen and pelvis are now enhanced with better use of contrast, less patient motion or artifact. New applications are being offered such as our non-invasive chest screening for patients with a history of smoking and our new cardiac scoring that screens individuals for risk of coronary artery disease. This technology is available at our Hospital location and at our new Outpatient Imaging Center.
