Volunteering

At Jupiter Medical Center, our Auxiliary (volunteers) provide invaluable support to patients, visitors and team members. Over 400 volunteers comprise our Auxiliary and come in all shapes, sizes and ages. They share a common desire to touch people's lives and make a difference by contributing to the community in which we all live and prosper.

Ways to Help

Volunteers serve in many areas of the hospital, performing a variety of tasks, such as welcoming and escorting patients and visitors, providing wheelchair assistance, assisting staff in clinical areas, providing administrative assistance, assisting family members in waiting rooms, visiting with patients or just making sure the patient is as comfortable as possible.

Volunteers assist Jupiter Medical Center team members in departments such as:

  • The Johnny & Terry Gray Surgical Institute
  • Main Lobby
  • Frenchman's Creek Digestive Health Center (GI Lab)
  • Petrocelli Emergency Department
  • Anderson Family Cancer Institute
  • Inpatient Units
  • Gift Shop and Thrift Shop

Additionally, our volunteers contribute to hospital programs, such as Pastoral Care and Pet Therapy.

How Do I Get Involved?

If you are considering becoming a hospital volunteer but are apprehensive because you don’t know what will be expected of you, we encourage you to contact us to attend an Orientation Session (please see Orientation Schedule below). Call the Auxiliary at 561-263-4461, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to sign up. You can learn about opportunities that suit your skills and interests, and we can learn about you! For your convenience, you may download and submit the completed Volunteer Application and Background Consent Form via our email address: JMCAuxiliary@jupitermed.com.

Please note, if you are a student interested in the Teenage Volunteer (TAV) program, click here and follow the given instructions. Once we review all the information, you will be invited to an Information Session/Orientation.

Every volunteer receives training before beginning their new role. All volunteers are required to adhere to the Auxiliary dress code which consists of a teal polo shirt or teal long sleeve jacket for the women, and a teal polo shirt for the men and khaki or tan slacks. Shirts or jackets are available in the Gift Shop at no charge.

Note: In keeping with hospital safety standards, a routine background check and tuberculosis screening is required.
