JUPITER, Fla. (May 19, 2014) – John Couris, President and CEO of Jupiter
Medical Center, was recognized with the 11th Annual Bruce Rendina Professional
Hero Award at the Palm Beach County Medical Society’s Heroes in
Medicine Awards on May 8, 2014, at the Kravis Center for the Performing
Arts in West Palm Beach, Fla. The Bruce Rendina Professional Hero Award
is meant to honor an individual whose profession is an integral part of
the health care system but is not a direct provider of patient care, and
who demonstrates a desire and willingness to use his knowledge and abilities
to improve the health of the local, national and global communities.
The award was created to commemorate the life and legacy of Bruce Rendina.
Rendina, who passed away in December 2006, was one of the country’s
most accomplished real estate developers and philanthropists. The Rendina
Family Foundation presents the award on his behalf.
“This award speaks highly of how hard John works to improve the
healthcare of our community,” said Paul Chiapparone, Chairman, Jupiter
Medical Center Board of Trustees. “His efforts can be seen throughout
the Medical Center and our community – from his innovative, collaborative
approach in working with physicians and medical professionals to bring
new programs and services to Jupiter Medical Center to his work with local
not-for-profit organizations whose missions are to improve health and
wellness, he is working hard to better the healthcare of Palm Beach County
and beyond.”
The Palm Beach County Medical Society’s Heroes in Medicine Awards
Ceremony honors individuals and organizations throughout Palm Beach County
