JUPITER, FLA. – Jupiter Medical Center today announced the appointment of Dr.
W. Jeffrey Davis as the new medical director of Urgent Care. With more
than 30 years of experience in health care, Dr. Davis is a recognized
leader in emergency medicine and public safety.
In his new position, Dr. Davis will oversee the clinical quality of patient
care in all of the Medical Center’s urgent care locations, including
four in Palm Beach County and a fifth location that will open this spring
in Martin County.
“Our urgent care centers are backed by the full resources of a regional
medical center, and now we have a veteran of emergency medicine supervising
our urgent care program,” said Don McKenna, president and chief
executive officer of Jupiter Medical Center. “Dr. Davis completed
a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Florida, and he
has a wide range of experience in emergency care and in public safety.”
Jupiter Medical Center’s urgent care locations offer on-site laboratory
services and X-rays for the rapid diagnosis and treatment of minor emergencies,
and illnesses. Another distinguishing feature of the urgent care provided
by Jupiter Medical Center – each patient’s imaging is reviewed
by the medical center’s experienced board-certified radiologists.
Jupiter Medical Center is pleased to offer services to support healthier
living in its urgent care centers, such as flu shots, travel medicine,
pre-employment testing and pre-operative clearance. Physical therapy is
also available at the urgent care location in Palm Beach Gardens on PGA
Boulevard.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of a world-class organization like
Jupiter Medical Center. Their commitment to providing greater access to
health care in our community is evident in their rapid expansion and growth
in the field of urgent care medicine and that was a key factor in my coming
to Jupiter,” Dr. Davis said. “I look forward to working with
the Jupiter team to enhance the care that we provide for our patients
as they move through our system of care.”
Prior to joining Jupiter Medical Center, Dr. Davis was the medical director
of Concentra Urgent Care in North Jacksonville. His new position at Jupiter
Medical Center marks a return to South Florida, where he spent nine years
as chief medical officer at St. Mary’s Medical Center and Palm Beach
Children’s Hospital. Dr. Davis also served as the Trauma Agency
director for the Palm Beach County Health Care District, as well as medical
director of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, among other appointments.
Dr. Davis received his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine
at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his
residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He is the

Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in Emergency Medical Services,”
presented by the Florida Medical Association.
