JUPITER, Fla. (April 13, 2021) – Top destination in Palm Beach County and
the Treasure Coast for world-class healthcare, Jupiter Medical Center
has earned a number of prestigious awards for 2021, each recognizing various
areas of the hospital’s exceptional performance, expert physicians
and staff, sophisticated technologies, safety and more.
Ranked as One of the World’s Best Hospitals by Newsweek Magazine
National magazine Newsweek named Jupiter Medical Center one of the World’s
Best Hospitals for 2021 in its annual ranking of 164,500 hospitals around
the globe and over 6,000 throughout the U.S. According to Newsweek, the
hospitals depicted on its highly anticipated annual ranking rise above
the rest in numerous areas including consistent medical excellence, renowned
physicians, top nursing care, support staff expertise, and state-of-the-art
technology. Criteria used to create this ranking includes hospital recommendations
from health care professionals, patient experience surveys and key performance
indicators for patient safety and treatment quality.
5-Star Rating by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarded Jupiter Medical
Center a 5-star rating for Overall Hospital Quality. The 5-star ranking
is a result of measuring a variety of rigorous CMS standards across seven
areas of quality. The agency uses summary star ratings – one to
five stars, with five being the best – on its Hospital Compare website
to help patients and families evaluate health care options in a given
geographic area. The Hospital Compare overall hospital rating summarizes
more than 50 quality measures into a single star rating for each hospital.
Scores for mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience,
effectiveness of care, timeliness of care, and efficient use of medical
imaging are assessed. Jupiter Medical Center has consistently ranked the
highest among hospitals in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast and
is the only hospital in the region to receive a 5-Star Rating.

Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Grade “A”
Jupiter Medical Center has been awarded the top safety rating by The Leapfrog
Group, a respected independent watchdog organization of more than 2,600
acute-care hospitals across the nation. This Grade “A” safety
rating is the sixth in a row by the nationally recognized organization
and is considered “the gold standard of patient safety.” Developed
under the guidance of a national panel of experts, the Leapfrog Hospital
Safety Grade uses up to 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety
data to assign grades to acute-care hospitals. The methodology is peer-reviewed
and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public. After measurements
of medical-error prevention, injuries, accidents, infections and other
patient safety issues are analyzed, each hospital is given an A, B, C,
D or F grade.
“Given the enormous obstacles presented by the Covid-19 pandemic,”
says Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, CEO of Jupiter Medical Center, “these
recognitions serve as tremendous testaments to the commitment of our renowned
physicians, expert medical staff and administrators, as well as our continued
investment in the most advanced technologies in medicine.”
