Breast MRI

If you are confronted with any kind of breast abnormality, early detection is essential. Breast MRI goes above and beyond conventional breast imaging, often providing solutions to tough diagnostic problems and identifying breast tumors that other exams might fail to detect.

Breast MRI is usually performed when your doctor needs more information than a mammogram, ultrasound or clinical breast exam can provide.

  • Breast MRI has a number of different uses for breast cancer, including:
  • Screening women at high risk for breast cancer either because of a strong family history or a gene abnormality. To learn more about Breast MRI for high-risk women, click here.
  • Gathering more information about an area of suspicion found on a mammogram or ultrasound
  • Monitoring for recurrence after treatment
