Support Groups

In an effort to keep you healthy and safe during the COVID-19 outbreak, some of our support groups have been temporarily suspended.

Jupiter Medical Center offers a variety of support groups for those looking to share similar experiences and self-educate.


Alzheimer’s Association® caregiver support groups, conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to develop a support system, exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions, talk through issues and ways of coping, share feelings, needs and concerns as well as learn about community resources.

Patients of the Jupiter Medical Center's Institute for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery can attend a monthly support group hosted by members of the bariatric team. This group offers guest speakers, psychological and nutritional support.

Living with Cancer Support Group

Living with cancer is one of the most stressful experiences in someone’s life. The Living with Cancer Support Group provides a safe place for patients to share their feelings and challenges while learning from others in a similar situation. Participation is free and registration is not required.

Living With Breast Cancer Support Group

You don’t have to face breast cancer alone. Having the support of others is an important part of breast cancer survivorship. The Living with Breast Cancer Support Group provides a warm and caring atmosphere for women with breast cancer. Within this group women share knowledge, experiences and emotional support with each other.

Living with Gynecologic Cancer Support Group

Jupiter Medical Center’s Gynecologic Cancers Patient Support Group provides a safe space to share feelings and challenges while connecting with others in a similar situation. The group is led by an oncology social worker who provides emotional and practical support. Participation is free. Registration is required.

Caregivers Support Group

If you are caring for someone with a cancer diagnosis it is important to take care of yourself as well. The Caregivers Support Group provides a place for caregivers to share feelings and connect with resources and support. Participation is free. Please RSVP to 561-263-3659.

Bereavement Support Group

For anyone who has lost a loved one or is experiencing grief.

Adult Support Group

If you are living with a diagnosis of diabetes, you are not alone. It’s important to have support from family, friends and from other people with diabetes. A support group can provide a place to discuss issues that others with diabetes may be experiencing too, find resources and talk to healthcare professionals who are specially trained and certified in diabetes education.

Jupiter Heart Club

Jupiter Heart Club is an educational forum dedicated to helping people understand heart disease, healthy lifestyle changes, new treatment options and resources to live a healthier life. Guest speakers on a variety of topics related to heart health.

Better Breathers Club

Jupiter Medical Center’s Better Breathers Club is a monthly support group for patients with COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary fibrosis and their caregivers. Founded by the American Lung Association and hosted by Jupiter Medical Center we provide an opportunity for patients with lung disease, and their caregivers, to connect with others who are also going through life with these conditions. Facilitated by concerned healthcare providers in a supportive environment, our goal is to provide education and resources to help meet the challenges that chronic lung disease brings to daily life and improve quality of life.

Living with Lung Cancer Support Group

You don’t have to face lung cancer alone. Cancer support groups can provide tremendous support when you are living with lung cancer. They offer an opportunity to share with others who have “been there” and experienced the array of emotions that come with a diagnosis of cancer. You can learn from others and share knowledge and emotional support. Participation is free and registration is not required.

New Moms

Lactation and Postpartum Support Group

You don’t have to face lactation or postpartum issues alone. Having the support of others is important. Our support group provides a warm and caring atmosphere where women can share knowledge, experiences and give emotional support to each other.

This support group can enhance the quality of life for people who are living with an ostomy and those who are facing ostomy surgery. The group allows you to share your feelings and ask questions with people in a similar situation. It also lets you share your successes with others who may benefit from your experience.

A.W.A.K.E. Support Groups

A.W.A.K.E. (Alert Well and Keeping Energetic) Support Group is an ongoing support group for patients with sleep apnea.

Smoking Cessation

Smoking Cessation Classes

A complimentary, proven-effective, six-week smoking cessation class is available to support your efforts to stop smoking. The course includes group support, relapse preventions, free nicotine replacement therapy (gum, patches and lozenges are available for those who are eligible).
