Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation, also called cardiac rehab, is a customized outpatient
program of exercise and education. Most heart disease patients can help
lower their risk of future heart problems by making changes to improve
their health.
- Cardiac rehabilitation is recommended for the following conditions:
- Myocardial infarction (heart attack)
- Heart valve or heart transplant surgery
- Stable angina
- Heart Failure
- Following coronary bypass
- After angioplasty and/or stenting
Cardiac rehab is divided into phases that involve monitored exercise, nutritional
counseling and emotional support, as well as support and education about
lifestyle changes to reduce your risks of heart problems. After a referral
from your physician, our team will work with you and provide the skills
you need to eliminate unhealthy habits and adopt a healthier lifestyle
by eating heart-healthy foods and maintaining your new exercise routine.
A Cost-Effective & Convenient Program
The initial program is a 36-session program (three sessions per week for
12 weeks) conducted on an outpatient basis. The goals of cardiac rehabilitation
are to establish an individualized plan to help you regain strength, prevent
your condition from worsening and reduce your risk of future heart problems,
as well as improve your health and quality of life.
We understand that insurance coverage for cardiac rehab only covers a certain
period of time. With that in mind, we have created a transitional exercise
program to help you continue your rehabilitation with the same great team
that cared for you throughout your prescribed rehabilitation.
Cardiac rehabilitation programs are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays,
from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Transitional Exercise Program
We provide unlimited monthly visits at the cost of $113 per month. You
may continue exercising with us five days a week. If you need transportation
and live in a specific geographic area, Jupiter Medical Center’s
complimentary Motor Aid service is available to you. Our goal is to keep
you on track and help you make the lifestyle changes you need to feel
your best.
