JUPITER, FLA. (November 30, 2015) – Jupiter Medical Center today
announced the opening of the Cary Grossman Health & Wellness Center,
the hospital’s newly remodeled health and rehabilitation facility.
The Center was made possible through a lead gift from Lynne and Robert
Grossman and is named in honor of their son, Cary.
A hospital-based health club, the Center is uniquely designed to meet the
needs of the whole community with facilities and programs for patients
working their way back from an injury, illness or total joint replacement,
as well as anyone looking to improve or maintain their health and even
prevent disease. Designed with a spa setting in mind, it includes the
only full-size indoor heated pool in North Palm Beach County, as well
as exercise classes, massages and other spa offerings and a wide array
of rehabilitation services. A new approach to health and fitness, the
staff includes exercise physiologists and other specialists, dedicated
to the integration of prevention and health education with physical fitness
and rehabilitation services.
“At Jupiter Medical Center, the health and wellness of our entire
community is our top priority,” said John Couris, President and
CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “The Cary Grossman Health & Wellness
Center enhances our ability to provide state-of-the-art rehabilitation
which gets patients back to their everyday lives. We’ve also invested
in this Center because we believe we must play an active role and provide
the resources needed to help everyone in our community achieve new levels
of well-being. Our ultimate goal is keeping people healthy and out of
the hospital.”
For rehabilitation patients, the Cary Grossman Health & Wellness Center
will bridge the gap between therapy and wellness—taking patients
through their course of rehab and then transitioning them into a general
maintenance health and wellness routine—all under the same roof.
The Center will offer a broad selection of rehabilitation services including
perioperative orthopedic rehabilitation, physical therapy, speech and
occupational therapy and aquatic therapy.
“The Center offers our patients a variety of individualized rehabilitation
services and therapies—allowing us to do more than ever before—with
the goal of helping each of them reach their maximum functional potential”
said, Frank DeLucia, MD, MS, Medical Director, Outpatient Rehabilitation Services.
Reduced-cost medical fitness memberships are available for people who have
had bariatric surgery or completed the weight loss management or diabetes
program at Jupiter Medical Center. The medical fitness program also provides
a fitness facility that meets the special needs of cancer survivors and
those who have completed Phase II cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
In addition, the Center serves as a full-service fitness center for the
entire community and has been designed to evoke an upscale spa feel that
is both warm and inviting. The Center will offer several health and wellness
services such as access to state-of-the-art exercise equipment, personal
training services, group fitness classes, yoga, pilates, mindfulness-based
stress reduction and spa services, including massage.
The Cary Grossman Health & Wellness Center is located at 1004 South
Old Dixie Highway in Jupiter, on the Jupiter Medical Center campus. The
facility is open to the general public with memberships available for
purchase. Hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.,
