Support Groups

Jupiter Medical Center offers a variety of support groups for those looking to share similar experiences and feelings, coping strategies and resources.

Alzheimer's and Dementia

The Alzheimer's and Dementia Caregivers Support Group is designed to provide information and education to enhance the health and quality of life for people living with dementia and those caring for them. As caregivers have different roles depending upon their previous role in the relationship, our Tuesday's group is for spouses only.

Tuesdays Spouse Only meets weekly from 10am - Noon.

Thursdays All Caregivers meets weekly from 10am - Noon.

Location: Jupiter Medical Center, Raso Education Center, 1226 S. Old Dixie Hwy., Jupiter

Virtual Support Group meets weekly on Wednesdays from Noon - 1:15pm. After registering you will receive an email with the Zoom link.

Living with Breast Cancer Support Group

Virtual Yoga for Cancer Patients

Yoga has the ability to reduce the psychological stress and help manage the physical symptoms and side effects of treatment. Yoga for cancer classes include meditation, chair yoga and standing stretches.

Mondays weekly 10:15 -11am

Sheila Griffin, MPA, RYT 500-hour, certified Yoga4Cancer teacher, certified Health & Wellness Coach, certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher.

Pastoral Care

Available upon request. Meet with a member of the pastoral care team for emotional and spiritual support.

Ostomy

Support Groups can enhance the quality of life for people who are living with an ostomy and those facing ostomy surgery. The group allows you to share your feelings and ask questions with people in a similar situation. It also lets you share your successes with others who may benefit from your experience.

Monthly, 4th Wednesday from 4 - 5pm

Heart

Mended Hearts Group

The Mended Hearts Program® is the nation's premier peer-support program for patients who have cardiovascular disease, their caregivers, and their families. Join us for this monthly meeting and learn about support, education, and awareness to issues that those living with heart disease face, and advocacy to improve quality of life.

Group meets the second Tuesday monthly 2 - 3pm. Group does not meet over the summer, meetings will resume in the Fall.

Chair Yoga for Cardiopulmonary Rehab Patients

Participating in chair yoga allows you to take advantage of the many benefits yoga provides, such as increased circulation; feelings of well-being; and decreases in blood pressure, anxiety, inflammation, and chronic pain. This class includes a brief centering meditation, chair yoga and standing balance postures. Modifications will be offered for various fitness levels.

Thursdays, weekly from 2 - 3pm.

New Moms

Lactation and Postpartum Support Group

You don’t have to face lactation or postpartum issues alone. Having the support of others is important. Our support group provides a warm and caring atmosphere where women can share knowledge, experiences and give emotional support to each other. Currently our support groups have been suspended. Smoking Cessation

Smoking Cessation Classes

A complimentary, proven-effective, four-week smoking cessation class is available to support your efforts to stop smoking. The course includes group support, relapse preventions, free nicotine replacement therapy (gum, patches and lozenges are available for those who are eligible). The group meets in person at Jupiter Medical Center and has a virtual option as well, please call 1-877-819-2357 for information, dates, times and to register.
