Jupiter Medical Center’s Expert Team
Jupiter Medical Center brings together a team of experienced, board-certified
cardiologists and cardiac surgeons experienced in performing a full spectrum
of cardiac services.
Many of our cardiologists have specialty training in interventional techniques,
which is the catheter-based treatment of coronary artery disease. Our
interventional cardiologists are highly experienced with performing diagnostic
cardiac catheterization procedures to test for heart disease. Our interventional
cardiologists are also experts at treating heart disease in adults, using
procedures including balloon angioplasty, stenting and thrombectomy.
Our team also includes cardiologists who are board-certified in electrophysiology.
Electrophysiologists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal
heart rhythms, such as atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders.
Our electrophysiologists also perform pacemaker and defibrillator implants
in our Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
While many people with coronary artery disease can be treated using minimally
invasive techniques, some heart conditions are very serious or highly
complex and must be treated with open heart surgery. Our cardiac surgeons
perform open heart surgeries using the latest techniques, including “off-pump”
cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, often known as CABG. Off-pump bypass grafting
differs from traditional coronary artery bypass surgery because it does
not require the use of a heart-lung machine. Instead, the patient’s
own heart continues beating and circulating blood and oxygen throughout
the body during the surgery.
As new protocols emerge, Jupiter Medical Center physicians and staff receive
up-to-the-minute training to ensure clinical practices based on the latest evidence.
Our cardiac care teams work together to offer the highest quality interventional
cardiology, advanced heart failure care, electrophysiology, cardiac imaging,
preventive cardiology, cardiac surgery, and other heart and vascular services.
