Jupiter Medical Center's Comprehensive Breast Care Program Receives Three Year Re-accreditation

December 5, 2016
JUPITER, Fla. (December 5, 2016) – Jupiter Medical Center’s Comprehensive Breast Care program has received re-accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer (NAPBC), a distinguished honor given to centers around the country voluntarily committed to providing the best possible care to patients with diseases of the breast. The re-accreditation demonstrates the Center’s ability to sustain world?class performance for the community.

Jupiter Medical Center’s Comprehensive Breast Care Program encompasses the diagnostic component – the Margaret W. Niedland Breast Center, as well as the treatment component – the Kristin Hoke Breast Health Program. The program provides leading-edge technology and treatment options, delivered by a team of caring, compassionate physicians, specialized nurses and technologists and support staff.

“We could not be more proud to have received a re-accreditation from the NAPBC. This re-accreditation reaffirms the excellence of our Comprehensive Breast Care Program at Jupiter Medical Center,” said Nancy J. Taft, MD, FACS, Medical Director of the Comprehensive Breast Care Program.

The NAPBC is a non?governmental, not?for?profit organization that has been established to identify and recognize breast centers providing quality care in the United States. The NAPBC is a consortium of national, professional organizations dedicated to the improvement of the quality of care and outcomes of women with diseases of the breast.

NAPBC?accredited centers offer patients the following:

  • A model for organizing and managing a breast center to ensure multidisciplinary, integrated and comprehensive breast care services
  • Internal and external assessment of breast center performance based on recognized standards to demonstrate a commitment to quality care
  • Recognition by national health care organizations as having established performance measures for high?quality breast care
  • National recognition and public promotion
  • Participation in a National Breast Disease Database to report patterns of care and effect quality improvement
  • Access to breast center comparison benchmark reports containing national aggregate data and individual center data to assess patterns of care and outcomes relative to national norms
