Improper form can hinder your results and increase your risk for injury.
We consulted fitness expert and JMC at the JCC trainer, Vincent Leonard,
for the skinny on perfecting your lunge form.
Lunges hit multiple muscle groups and can be done anywhere with little
to no equipment. Unfortunately, many people tend to make simple mistakes
that can cause injuries.
Here are some tips to keep your lunges perfect!
- Keep your body upright throughout the movement: shoulders back, core tight,
looking straight ahead
- Step forward placing most of your weight on your front heel.
- Lower your hips until both your legs are at a 90 degree angle.
- Keep front knee over your heel (don’t let knee slide forward towards toes)
