Jonathan's Landing Cares Makes Generous Donation To MyClinic

May 25, 2016

JUPITER, FLA. (May 25, 2016) – MyClinic, the free medical clinic in Jupiter, Florida, is pleased to announce a generous $10,000 donation from Jonathan’s Landing Cares, a group of Jonathan’s Landing residents who regularly volunteer for a wide array of charitable causes, which was presented to MyClinic on March 30, 2016. The contribution will be used to expand the hours of MyClinic’s medical interpreter and data entry/electronic health scribe, which will increase efficiency at MyClinic and allow doctors to see more patients.

MyClinic, which currently operates out of a modular building, is located at 6405 West Indiantown Road B Jupiter, Florida 33458, recently kicked off a capital campaign to raise $2.5 million to support the construction of a new permanent facility. The funds from the campaign will help to build a permanent building twice the size of their current location. With over 1,400 registered patients and new patients coming in to seek care, the clinic continues to thrive.

The donation was made in honor of Bill Mattison, Jonathan’s Landing Cares’ “Volunteer of the Year.” Bill has volunteered with many organizations for approximately 10 years. At Jupiter Medical Center, Bill volunteers each week as a dispatcher, answering phone calls and managing scheduling to ensure that patients safely get to and from their medical appointments. In addition, Bill provides pastoral care as part of a 30-person volunteer team to help the spiritual needs of the patients. With the Diocese of Palm Beach Prison Ministry Team, Bill provides spiritual counseling and guidance to inmates housed in prisons and jails in South Florida.

“There are many patients in need that would otherwise go without medical care in Jupiter and our surrounding communities. This donation makes a difference in their lives,” said MyClinic Board Chair, Dr. Ron Surowitz. “It’s the volunteers and those who are willing to assist us financially that impact those in need in our community.”

As an independent, not-for-profit, free clinic, providing primary medical care to low-income uninsured adults, MyClinic relies on the support of its volunteers to fulfill its mission and remains grateful for the donation and the continued efforts of its volunteers and small staff to continue serving the health and wellness needs of the community.

A site plan of MyClinic can be provided upon request.
