Active wear is all the rage right now, but in the interest of safety and
comfort, make wise choices about the fabric of your fitness gear. Choose
a fabric that makes sense for your workout.
Some things to keep in mind:
- 100% cotton is very slow to dry. Cotton clothing may be great for yoga
and tai chi, but for activities where you are more likely to sweat, look
for synthetic moisture wicking fabrics that allow sweat to evaporate from
the skin without drenching the clothing.
- More close fitting, clingy fabrics are safest for running and biking to
avoid getting caught in pedals or between your feet. But not too tight!
Clothing that is too snug can impede your ability for a full range of motion.
