NEW CHIEF NURSING OFFICER JOINS JUPITER MEDICAL CENTER

JUPITER, FLA. (June 16, 2018) – Jupiter Medical Center is pleased to welcome Joanne O. Miller, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, as the organization’s new vice president and chief nursing officer.

Miller has 28-years of nursing and health care executive experience, and she comes to Palm Beach County from Washington, DC, where she served as chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care for Sibley Memorial Hospital/Johns Hopkins Medicine, a not-for-profit hospital in the Johns Hopkins Health System.

At Sibley, Miller was responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating nursing practice and patient care standards across the hospital’s acute and ambulatory care units (318 licensed beds), its 44-bed skilled nursing facility, and its 174-bed assisted living residence. During her tenure at Sibley, she also led the development and implementation of a new care delivery model for the organization’s state-of-the art 470,000 square-foot acute care hospital.

“Miller is a seasoned health care professional who has overseen clinical work-flow, strategic planning and technology advancements with major contributions focused on improving work environments and patient experience,” said Don McKenna, president and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “We look forward to her expertise in the areas of operations, quality, safety, leadership and change management.”

In her role with Jupiter Medical Center, Miller is responsible for overseeing the organization’s team of more than 400 outstanding nursing professionals dedicated to improving patient outcomes and providing the highest standard of care as evidenced by the hospitals award-winning scores for patient satisfaction and quality.

In addition to Sibley, Miller has held Chief Nursing Officer positions in New York City, Maryland and Connecticut.

Miller holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary College, a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Hartford School of Nursing, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Drexel University.
