Mel Thacker, MD, PCC is a fellowship-trained ENT surgeon, TEDx speaker, Professional Certified Coach, and founder of the Empowered Surgeons Group. She is the cofounder of the Hippocratic Collective, host of the Surgeons with Purpose podcast, and author of Scrubbing In. Drawing on her experience as both a surgeon and coach, Dr. Thacker challenges the hidden beliefs and cultural norms that drive physician suffering. Her work is dedicated to helping physicians create sustainable, meaningful careers while advancing a more human-centered future for medicine.

Daniel Mark Labow, MD, is the Carmen L. and Peter Buck Endowed Chair of Surgery at Northwell Health. He specializes in surgical oncology and cares for patients with primary and metastatic malignancies including esophageal, gastric (stomach), pancreas, bile duct, gallbladder, colon and rectal cancers as well as melanoma and sarcomas.
