I’m 47 years old, married and the proud mom of my beautiful six year
old daughter, Stellan. I do sales and marketing for senior living and
in my free time I enjoy reading, kayaking, snorkeling, beach time, nature,
dolls and dollhouses, animals, music, cooking, horseback riding and family time.

scheduled for surgery in September for removal of the tumor along with
lymph nodes. I will have a temporary expander followed by reconstructive
surgery and five to seven weeks of radiation therpay.

and Chytoxan. Keytruda every 3rd week for a year. Surgery, and then radiation
Message for other women:
Positivity is the most important thing I can say. Keeping yourself in the
right place mentally can be challenging to say the least, but I tell myself
there is no other option. I do have my moments of feeling overwhelmed,
and sad. This is normal, and you should let it happen. Cry, scream, punch
a pillow, whatever you need to do. Then take a deep breath, and look at
the things you love most in life. I fight for my husband, daughter, and
family. I want to show my daughter how to be strong, and brave even when
facing scary things in life. I have to remind myself to slow down, and
give myself a break when I feel tired, or ill. It’s ok to relax
when you don't feel great. I have to accept that right now I cannot
do everything I want to do like riding horses, but there are things I
can still do that I enjoy like reading, and painting so I focus on that.
Accept help from your family , and friends. It’s OK ! This is when
you really need them, and they want to help. If you feel you are struggling
to stay healthy mentally tell your doctor, and or support team. They are
here to help you. There are solutions, and you are not the only one. You
WILL overcome this.
Theme of my chair
I am inspired by nature. I have always loved the outdoors, and all of its
inhabitants. Living in South Florida we have some truly amazing wildlife.
When I feel overwhelmed, or sorrowful I simply step outside I enjoy the
brilliant sunshine, flowers, and plants. We have a bird feeder, and I
love to watch the Mocking Jays, Blue Jays, Cardinals, and Grackles. I
also enjoy the gorgeous butterflies. The brilliant monarchs, zebra butterflies,
and yellow cloudless sulfurs. When I am feeling well enough we grab dinner
to take to the beach. I can collect shells with my daughter. Sometimes
we find starfish, or even sea cucumbers. A turtle may come up for air,
or a fish jump out of the water. We will go kayaking at riverbend park
to see alligators, turtles, owls, and all of the birds. One time on the
intracoastal I was amazed to see flying fish jumping around me! It is
all around us, and is free.
