JMC remains only facility in Palm Beach County recognized by American College of Radiology
Jupiter Medical Center’s Radiation Oncology Center has been awarded re-accreditation by the American College of Radiology® (ACR®), extending its gold standard of quality and patient safety through December 2028. JMC remains the only radiation oncology facility in Palm Beach County to hold this prestigious distinction, a testament to its ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and innovation.
Radiation oncology (radiation therapy) is the careful use of high-energy radiation to treat cancer. A radiation oncologist may use radiation to cure cancer or to relieve a cancer patient’s pain. The ACR is the nation’s oldest and most widely accepted radiation oncology accrediting body, with over 700 accredited sites and 30 years of accreditation experience.
“Our reaccreditation by the ACR underscores Jupiter Medical Center’s unwavering commitment to delivering the safest, most advanced radiation oncology care for our patients,” said Dr. Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO. “We are proud to be recognized for our quality, expertise, and compassionate approach, ensuring every patient receives personalized treatment in a healing environment.”
The ACR accreditation process is rigorous, evaluating patient care, safety, personnel qualifications, equipment, quality control, and assurance programs. Facilities must meet or exceed practice guidelines and technical standards developed by board-certified radiation oncologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field. JMC has maintained continuous ACR accreditation since 2002, demonstrating its commitment to providing the highest level of cancer care.
“At Jupiter Medical Center, our mission is to provide the highest-quality cancer care with empathy, precision, and innovation,” said Dr. Nathan Tennyson, Medical Director of the Radiation Oncology Center. “Our ACR reaccreditation reflects the dedication of our multidisciplinary team and our investment in the latest technologies, ensuring our patients have access to the most advanced radiation therapies close to home. We are honored to help guide our patients through their cancer journey with expertise and compassion.”
JMC’s The Anderson Family Cancer Institute offers a full spectrum of advanced radiation therapies, including TrueBeam Radiotherapy System, CyberKnife M6, IntraOperative Radiation Therapy (IORT), and high-dose rate brachytherapy. The hospital’s multidisciplinary team collaborates to develop personalized treatment plans, supported by patient navigators and wraparound services for whole-patient care.
