Jupiter Medical Center is the Only Hospital in the Region Named to Newsweek’s America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2026

Recognition reflects continued growth and investment in maternity and neonatal care

Jupiter, FL – May 8, 2026 - Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) has been recognized on Newsweek’s “America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2026” list, a national distinction honoring hospitals that deliver exceptional maternity care for mothers and newborns across the United States. The annual rankings are developed by Newsweek in partnership with Statista, a leading global data and business intelligence firm.

Researchers identified leading hospitals nationwide that demonstrate excellence in maternity care, based on a comprehensive evaluation process focused on quality, safety, patient experience, and professional reputation.

Hospitals recognized on Newsweek’s America’s Best Maternity Hospitals list are evaluated using a rigorous methodology built on three core pillars:

  • Hospital Quality Metrics – Medical indicators relevant to maternity care, including infection prevention, cesarean birth rates, maternal and neonatal outcomes, health equity measures, and recognized accreditations and certifications.
  • Patient Experience – Publicly available patient survey data evaluating communication with nurses and physicians, care transitions, discharge information, cleanliness, responsiveness, and overall satisfaction.
  • Reputation Score – A nationwide survey of health care professionals and hospital managers with expertise in maternity care, including neonatal and perinatal physicians, nurses, and midwives.

To be eligible for recognition, hospitals must report performance data, receive at least a 2‑star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and achieve a minimum performance threshold across all three pillars. Awarded hospitals are then categorized based on overall performance levels.

“Being named one of Newsweek’s America’s Best Maternity Hospitals reflects the skill, compassion, and teamwork of our physicians, nurses, midwives, and care teams who support families through every phase of care,” said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “That commitment is reflected in the growing number of families who choose Jupiter Medical Center, as we continue to invest in maternity, neonatal, and pediatric emergency services to meet rising demand across the region.”

Jupiter Medical Center is on track to deliver nearly 3,000 babies this year – a 70 percent increase since 2020. The number of deliveries has steadily risen year over year and continues to surpass regional trends. Notably, in recent months, Jupiter Medical Center has been the hospital with the highest delivery volume in Palm Beach County. As a result of this growth, Jupiter Medical Center recently added 12 postpartum beds and two obstetrics operating rooms to meet the growing demand. In total, the hospital’s maternity care now features eight labor and delivery rooms, four dedicated operating rooms, and 26 postpartum suites.

In addition to obstetric services, the hospital operates a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to provide advanced care for newborns who require specialized support.

Jupiter Medical Center has also been voted as the region’s “Best Place to Have a Baby”by the community, and it maintains national Safe Sleep Certification for its commitment to infant safety.
