Community Education Class on Cancer
Jupiter Medical Center’s Anderson Family Cancer Institute has been awarded a grant from the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund to conduct basic education about cancer and clinical trials, engaging diverse communities in Cancer Awareness and Education.
A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. Many patients are left with unanswered questions about their health, treatment options, and future. Our program is designed to change that.
We believe every patient deserves clear, comprehensive education about their disease and the options available—including clinical trials. Right now, many patients receive unstructured information from their doctors and nurses, typically at diagnosis which can be overwhelming. By offering a structured educational program, we aim to strengthen trust between patients and their care team, increase confidence in treatment decisions, and encourage participation in clinical trials.
Through this program, the community will learn the basics of cancer:
What we offer:
- Easy-to-understand education about cancer and treatment options
- Information about clinical trials and how they may help
- A safe place to ask questions and hear from experts in the field
- Guidance to help you feel more confident in your care decisions
- This course will be a primer on cancer fundamentals – covering the diagnostic process, the significance of staging, and treatment options, including clinical trials.
We want patients to feel less alone, more prepared, and better informed
about cancer.
Together, we can ensure patients feel informed, supported, and empowered
every step of the way.
