Medical Fitness

What if there was one medicine so powerful in maintaining and improving health that it could prevent or treat dozens of diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and obesity?

There is! It’s exercise. Exercise is Medicine® is a global initiative to combat physical inactivity and improve people’s health and well-being. Jupiter Medical Center is proud to be a member of the Exercise is Medicine network.

Benefits of Physical Activity

Most Americans do not exercise enough on a regular basis. Physical inactivity is a fast-growing public health problem and contributes to a variety of chronic diseases and health complications, including obesity, diabetes and cancer. Regular physical activity helps manage weight and improve your overall health. In addition, increasing physical activity has proven effective in the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases, delaying the effects of aging, and improving functional capacity and psychological well-being at any age.

Our Exercise is Medicine program is specifically designed to support you in achieving your optimum levels of health, social and emotional functioning.

You may benefit from this program if you are healthy but inactive or managing any of the following medical conditions:

  • Bariatric surgery
  • Weight loss management
  • Diabetes
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase III
  • Pulmonary conditions
  • Cancer survivors who completed treatment within the last 5 years
  • Patients who completed Jupiter Medical Center physical, occupational or speech rehabilitation within the last 3 months

We believe that exercise is the best medicine and offer you the comfort and security of a state-of-the-art hospital-based facility that is more “health” than club. Our programs are led by degreed and certified exercise specialists, and other health professionals.
