Jupiter Medical Center Foundation Surpasses Campaign's Halfway Mark

December 3, 2018
November 29, 2018

Jupiter, Fla. – Jupiter Medical Center Foundation is more than halfway to a major goal to enhance health care for residents in South Florida. The Foundation has raised more than $160 million of its $300 million goal, allowing Jupiter Medical Center to provide world-class, compassionate health care close to home.

Jupiter Medical Center’s $300 millionVision. Innovation. Impact. Campaign has led to the hospital’s remarkable growth, and demonstrates the significance of philanthropy in moving the needle toward greater health care in our region. To meet patients’ health care needs, Jupiter Medical Center must continue to evolve into a regional medical destination that is comprised of Centers of Excellence—world-class clinical programs that are comprehensive and highly specialized. This includes recruiting first-rate physicians and adopting a multidisciplinary model of care often found in the nation’s leading academic medical centers.

“The success of this campaign is due to the generosity of this community. Residents recognized the need for personalized health care that incorporates quality, personalized service and safety. They chose to make an investment in our community, and we will all reap the benefits,” said Liv Vesely, President of Jupiter Medical Center Foundation.

The Timothy and Jayne Donahue Cardiac Surgery Program, launching in 2019, will allow Jupiter Medical Center to perform more advanced procedures on patients with more serious cardiac issues such as cardiac bypass and valve replacement and repairs, and advanced interventional procedures that include Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and advanced ablations for atrial fibrillation. These procedures achieve lifesaving results with minimal discomfort, and faster healing times with lower risk than traditional surgery.

Construction of the Anderson Family Cancer Institute is well underway. The new, comprehensive cancer institute will provide convenient access to multidisciplinary, evidence-based cancer care often found in the nation’s most prestigious health care institutions. Opening in late 2019, the cancer institute will have the ability to fully serve patients from diagnosis through treatment.

Jupiter Medical Center was able to fast-track the development and launch of a Comprehensive Stroke Centeropening in December 2018. The Center will deliver 24/7 rapid, advanced stroke care for both ischemic (blockages) and hemorrhagic (bleeding) strokes, utilizing advanced facilities and technologies such as 3-D neurointerventional biplane angiographic technology. This technology is used for precise diagnosis of neurological abnormalities and minimally invasive endovascular procedures that can immediately repair these conditions. 3-D biplane technology also provides physicians with functional imaging, allowing advanced viewing and navigation around structures in the brain, providing better patient outcomes.

The 6,300-square-foot Mastroianni Family Pediatric Emergency Department, opening in April 2019, will deliver emergency care to children in the community in a convenient, child-friendly setting. Palm Beach County’s youngest patients will have eight private treatment rooms, a triage area to decrease wait times, along with a dedicated, round-the-clock pediatrician.

The new, Five-Story Patient Tower will become the new main entrance to the hospital and will house a technologically advanced patient floor; a dedicated floor for the 16-bed Level II De George Neonatal Intensive Care Unit outfitted with advanced monitoring, imaging and respiratory technologies, set to open in September 2019; and the fifth floor, which will serve as a dedicated Concierge Unit, featuring seven suites. Each suite will feature a large patient room as well as a private family room.

During the last three years, Jupiter Medical Center has seen a sharp increase in the number of surgeries performed. Jupiter Medical Center Foundation is seeking a lead gift to initiate the construction of an elite surgery institute that will advance surgical care and improve patient outcomes. TheSurgery Institute will include 16 new ORs of the future that will utilize intelligent tools to improve patient health. These new “Smart” ORs will use state-of-the-art equipment that is digitally integrated so the patient’s information will be at the surgeon’s fingertips. Surgeons will be able to access a patient’s images during surgery, and transmit images from the operating room to specialists for real-time consultation. The Institute will also be home to a 1,000-square-foot hybrid OR surgical theater, featuring technologies such as high-definition cameras and ceiling-mounted 3-D scanners that will enable multidisciplinary teams of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, interventionalists and technicians to perform both endovascular and open-heart procedures, shifting between techniques in the same session when necessary.
