Jupiter Medical Center Again Achieves Highest Safety Rating from Nationally Respected Watchdog Organization The Leapfrog Group awarded an “A” to the not-for-profit based on its patient safety standards

JUPITER, Fla. – November 14, 2023 – Jupiter Medical Center has again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national not-for-profit organization that sets standards for excellence in patient care. Jupiter Medical Center is the only hospital in the Palm Beach and Martin County region to receive an “A” rating.

The Leapfrog Group assigns a grade between “A” and “F” to more than 2,600 general hospitals nationwide. The grade uses over 30 measures of safety data, including rates of preventable errors, injuries and infections. It also accounts for whether hospitals have systems to protect patients from harm. Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades are considered the “gold standard of patient safety.”

“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Jupiter Medical Center made a true commitment to put patients first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.

“Jupiter Medical Center consistently remains the highest-rated hospital in our region for quality, safety and patient experience,” said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center.” This national designation by The Leapfrog Group assures our community that the health care provided by Jupiter Medical Center meets the highest standards and signifies our commitment to excellence.”
