JUPITER, FLA. (January 27, 2015) –
Jupiter Medical Center today announced the opening of the $46 million Florence A. De George Pavilion,
an 85,000 square foot state-of-the-art new tower with 44 brand new patient
rooms. The tower includes an entire floor dedicated to The Anderson Family
Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence, as well as a new Florence
A. De George Children’s & Women’s Services obstetrics unit.
“The De George Pavilion is a perfect example of how we are reimagining
the way we care for our community’s health and wellness,”
said Jupiter Medical Center’s President and Chief Executive Officer,
John D. Couris. “From the seamless patient experience of The Anderson
Family Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence to our new obstetrics
unit with eight new labor rooms, 14 post-partum rooms and two c-section
operating suites, community members will clearly see how much we value
the trust they place in us and how passionate we are about restoring their
health and enhancing their lives.”
The Anderson Family Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence
The centerpiece of the De George Pavilion is the Anderson Family Orthopedic
& Spine Center of Excellence, which opens to patients today, Tuesday,
January 27. This cutting-edge facility not only transforms the space where
care is provided, it also fundamentally changes the ways in which care
is delivered.
It is designed to provide a seamless continuity of care. Patients transition
from surgery to recovery and rehabilitation all in one integrated unit
on the second floor of the Pavilion. Bringing the entire multidisciplinary
team together in one comprehensive unit enables greater collaboration
in the care of our patients. Orthopedic and neurosurgeons, physical therapists,
rehabilitation specialists, pain management staff and specially trained
and experienced registered nurses all work side-by-side to get patients
back on their feet again. The center features the most advanced orthopedic
surgery suites, 30 private patient rooms, an on-site gym for rehabilitation
therapy, a family room and a dining room. The size and configuration of
the unit allows not only for maximum privacy and comfort, but also for
participation by the family in post-operative care and the rehabilitation process.
Florence A. De George Children’s & Women’s Services Obstetrics Unit
The new building also enables Jupiter Medical Center to grow its Florence
A. De George Children’s & Women’s Services with the opening
of the new obstetrics unit. The Unit, which opens to expecting mothers
on February 3, includes eight labor rooms, 14 post-partum rooms and two
innovative c-section operating suites. In this facility, Jupiter Medical
Center provides expert care for mother and baby in a state-of-the-art
facility with all the comforts of home. For a true family experience,
suites offer overnight facilities to accommodate fathers or labor partners.
It also offers a lounge so family can be nearby and loved ones can share
in the joyous occasion.
