"On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Jupiter Medical Center and
Jupiter Medical Center Foundation, we are announcing today that our President
and CEO, John Couris, will assume the role of President and CEO of Tampa
General Hospital on September 1, 2017. John’s last day at Jupiter
Medical Center will be on August 11th.
While we are sad to be losing John, we are excited for him as he embarks
on this new adventure, and are proud of all that he has accomplished during
his tenure at Jupiter Medical Center.
Over the last seven years, Jupiter Medical Center has achieved a tremendous
amount. We have created new programs and services, maintained and even
increased our world-class quality and patient satisfaction scores, continued
to operate from a strong financial position, increased our market share,
built a strong leadership team, developed a tighter alignment with our
physicians and allied health professionals, formed strong partnerships
with other world-class organizations both locally and nationally, and
created a network of services for which our community relies upon for
their health and wellness needs.
Plans are in place to soon become an open-heart facility; open a Level
2 NICU; expand our cancer center and emergency department; create a new
observation unit, comprehensive stroke program and concierge unit; and
implement a number of additional key strategic initiatives. The organization
is well positioned for continued growth over the next five years and beyond.
The Boards thank John for all he has done over the last seven years. We
wish him and his family all the best.
The Board of Trustees will begin an immediate national search for a new
President and CEO and will work with John and the senior leadership team
to ensure the transition is a seamless as possible. "
