Vascular Interventional Radiology
Our vascular system is a maze of arteries, veins and tiny capillaries spreading
out from the heart to deliver oxygen and nutrients to every cell in the
body. As blood circulates, it removes carbon dioxide, toxins and waste
materials. Vascular disorders can affect practically any part of the body,
but the most common areas we treat are the heart and limbs.
We specialize in minimally invasive, targeted treatments. Our leading-edge
capabilities include GE's Innova IGS 540 System, which offers one
of the largest fields of view for interventional imaging, excellent image
quality and shorter exam times.
Vascular Conditions
Jupiter Medical Center's integrated approach to patient care allows
surgeons and interventional radiologists to provide you with the latest
and most advanced techniques for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment
of vascular diseases including:
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
- Carotid Artery Disease
- Deep Vein Thrombosis
- Peripheral Arterial Disease
- Pulmonary Embolism
- Varicose Veins
Interventional Radiologists are advancing cancer detection and treatment
through the use of imaging technology, frequently used in combination
with the most current innovations available in the oncology field. Their
goal is to precisely locate and remove tumors in a minimally or noninvasive way.
Most patients who undergo these procedures are outpatients or require an
overnight stay in the hospital.
- Procedures include:
- Chemoembolization
- Radioembolization
- Obstruction relief/Fluid drainage
- Microwave ablation
- Percutaneous biopsies
- Powerports and PICC line placement
- Radiofrequency ablation
- Venous access
- Vertebroplasty/ Kyphoplasty
Jupiter Medical Center is proud to offer its patients the latest technology
for interventional radiology procedures.
Interventional Oncology is an integral part of cancer treatment today.
Jupiter Medical Center is pleased to offer Veran Medical Technologies
Total Navigational Oncology Solution to our patients. Interventional Radiologists
perform minimally invasive biopsies and targeted procedures such as ablation.
The addition of the ig4™ Platform for interventional radiology provides
electromagnetic based 4D navigation technology, which incorporates a unique
respiration tracking system allowing physicians to locate suspicious targets
throughout a patient’s breathing pattern.
Patient PET and CT scans are combined with the system, creating a 4D view
in real time, allowing physicians to “see inside” to accurately
target a lesion within a moving organ such as the lungs, kidneys or liver.
This technology reduces procedure time and radiation dose.
