The Thoracic Surgery & Lung Center of Excellence is dedicated to the
prevention, early detection, treatment, and care of patients with lung
cancer and other diseases of the chest and pulmonary system. A part of
Jupiter Medical Center’s Anderson Family Cancer Institute, this
unique program spans the continuum of care—streamlining diagnosis
and coordinating treatment to assist patients in Palm Beach County, the
Treasure Coast, and the Greater South Florida area. We provide comprehensive
treatment options for all stages of disease, including surgery, interventional
pulmonology, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, as well as some of the
most revolutionary techniques, like radiofrequency ablation, stereotactic
body radiation therapy, oncologic targeted therapy, and minimally invasive
robotic assisted surgery.
Our program was one of the first in the world to offer the da Vinci Xi
system®. We are currently leaders nationally in robotic bronchoscopy,
utilizing the Intuitive Ion bronchoscope. For our patients, this translates
to earlier diagnosis, smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays, less
post-operative pain, and a more rapid return to normal activities.

Lung Cancer Screening
Our program is designated a Lung Cancer Screening Center by the American
College of Radiology and recognized as a Screening Center of Excellence
by the Lung Cancer Alliance. Patients concerned about, or at risk for,
lung cancer have access to quick, painless, and non-invasive screenings.
In the case of any findings on CT lung scans, our patients are referred
to our Lung Nodule Clinic, where they receive an accurate evaluation and
recommendations for surveillance and follow-up care. For information about

Comprehensive Lung Cancer Care in South Florida
Our multidisciplinary team of physician specialists including surgical,
medical and radiation oncologists, interventional pulmonologists, diagnostic
and interventional radiologists, and pathologists, collaborate to review
cases and develop a comprehensive treatment plan personalized for each
patient—employing the least invasive solution possible to maximize
quality of life. Each patient has a dedicated nurse navigator to provide
education and support throughout their journey. A vast array of support
services including oncology social workers, dietitians, rehabilitation
specialists, support groups, and more are available to patients and their
family members.
