Physical Therapy
Jupiter Medical Center Orthopedic Rehabilitation Services provides a continuum
of care from inpatient to outpatient to wellness for orthopedic patients
recovering from surgery.
Pre-hab Strengthening Program
Research has proven that preoperative exercise programs can improve early
return of function after orthopedic surgery. Jupiter Medical Center’s
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services offers customized preoperative exercise
programs designed to improve strength prior to scheduled surgery.
Inpatient Rehabilitation
Patients awaiting total joint replacement and neck or back surgery are
offered the opportunity to attend an informative preoperative class to
learn what to expect before, during and after their surgery. Patients
have the opportunity to speak to representatives from nursing and rehabilitation
and get answers to all their questions about the procedure. Following
surgery, physical and occupational therapists provide comprehensive rehabilitation
services that are individualized to meet each patient’s needs, with
the goal of promoting faster recovery and greater independence in the
home environment.
Sub-Acute Rehabilitation
Orthopedic or spine patients may require additional rehabilitation before
going home. The Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is Jupiter
Medical Center's top ranked sub-acute inpatient rehabilitation and
long-term care facility. The center is conveniently located just a few
steps west of the Jupiter Medical Center Emergency Room. Rehabilitation
therapists are committed to helping patients return to leading productive,
independent lives by utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and a team approach
to help patients reach the highest level of physical, emotional, and social
independence.

Aquatic Therapy
The buoyancy of aquatic therapy offers significant benefits for spinal
patients. It helps to counteract gravity, supports the weight of the patient,
and takes pressure off the spine, while allowing for greater range of
motion and reducing the level of pain that patients experience. The aquatic
environment also provides resistance, allowing for strength and conditioning
while decreasing risk of further injury.
Aquatic exercises help strengthen the back, abdominal, and hip muscles
that help create a healthy spine. The pool is considered one of the best
places to work on core strengthening, which is one of our main goals treating
spinal patients. Aquatic therapy is offered at our Health and Rehabilitation
Center on the Jupiter Medical Center campus.
Wellness Program
When you no longer require rehabilitative services, you have the option
of continuing your exercise regimen by joining our post-therapy program
located at Jupiter Medical Center's Health & Wellness Center.
Our exercise specialists will create a lifelong exercise program specific
to your orthopedic or spine related needs by working in conjunction with
your Jupiter Medical Center therapist to achieve your personal fitness goals.
