What to Expect
Making the decision to have surgery can be a challenge. Undergoing joint
replacement, revision or spine surgery takes a lot of planning and can
cause anxiety and stress. There are lots of elements involved, including
making appointments, planning for surgery and preparing for your return
home upon discharge.
The Anderson Family Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence at Jupiter
Medical Center provides inpatient care and enables patients to easily
transition from surgery to recovery and rehabilitation can offer you a
helping hand. We have a dedicated orthopedic nurse navigator who will:
- Provide education on what to expect before, during and after surgery
- Give a tour of the center
- Meet with the patient while in the hospital to monitor progress
- Work closely with the patient’s surgeon and health care team to prepare
for discharge
Our patient navigator will provide ongoing one-on-one support throughout
the patient’s stay in the hospital. Should the patient or family
members have questions, the navigator will be available to provide answers
and make the experience as pleasant and stress free as possible. It’s
comforting to know that a trusted resource is here to assist you and your family.
Surgery Pre-Op Education
Knee, hip, shoulder and spine surgery can be physically and psychologically

during and after the procedure. The preoperative education class will
answer your questions regarding your surgery, recovery and return to normal
daily activities. Presented by a multidisciplinary team of professionals,
including nursing and rehabilitation services, this class is specifically
designed for our orthopedic patients, family members and/or caregivers.
